Legalization of Marijuana
Right now as we speak the government is debating weather or not the drinking age should be lowered to 18. One reason that they are doing this is more revenue. My question is should marijuana be legalized. I say yes.
Ever wondered why people still smoke dope. Ever wondered what it would be like if weed would be legal? If the government would legalize weed, I believe people would stop smoking it because people tend to not do stuff that they have all legal right to get to. Also I believe that this countries revenue would be very greatly increased. According to thenews.org we would generate a 6 billion dollar annual tax revenue. We would save 7.7 billion in government expenditure to put weed users behind bars.
Right now the government is currently spending 1,000,000 per prison to imprison weed users. If we were to legalize weed we would be able to spend all that money on putting the real criminals behind bars such as child molesters, rapists, serial killers, etc. These criminals would be off the street and we would have a better society.
