My brothers birthday is actually in January so I could do something similar :) But I don't think I would spent £40 on him!
I nearly did something like this to my dad. I was giving him 2 boxes of chocolates in 1 package, and I was sooo close to wrapping up a much larger box around them, I even put the actual present in the big box but I decided it was too much effort XD

I will try to convince my mum to do it. My brother wants a new laptop so he will be expecting a nice box laptop sized box, then it has a smaller box in it with like a book XD Then after that if my mum actually got him a laptop & after he cries from the joke get the real laptop in & give it to him! Perfect! Just need my mum to help!
