How fast is the Sharenator population growing?
This site used to be a lot of unique and good quality posts. now there are so many active members the home page is getting packed with tons and tons of posts. This site is becoming very large compared to previous years and the posting rate is going off the charts.
What do you think will happen if this keeps progressing?

if only if only. I dont care much about any of that (besides colonizing mars). my main issue is how sharenator has become packed with people recently. the home page is updated faster than ive ever seen. ive been thinking of some ideas on how this can be fixed, or atleast reduced
It's getting kind of boring no ??? I mean how much effort does it take to go to Funnyjunk or Memebase and just save everything you see on there and post it here.
exactly! i mean i dont mind the few posts that do that. like Darkicon's memebase has gone on for 16 posts. thats his series and hes posting one every couple of days. thats reasonable. but when 30 other people are posting from the same feed hes getting, it just gets excessive. i really wish i could talk to paul and darius about fixing or helping reduce this problem, its ruining the beauty of the sight
Not to mention most of the new posts are mostly comics that are tl;dr. Then there's the post with millions of pics in them and maybe like 3-4 are funny
I've seen one good post today. Just one and it was by Gabsterr16 she doesn't post often but when she does it's always good shit
I know what you mean, I personally don't like to post the same type of thing over and over again, (which is why I don't have that many posts) I try to switch it up every now and then, some memes, some C&H, some randoms, some fails, etc..
I understand, but it is Sharenator. THe name implies sharing and thusly, people will come and attempt to share, even if we don't want them to. I know I'm... well now I'm not new... but speaking relative to others like Paul, Darius, SuDoKu, I'm new. And Now I am part of the most active Sharenators, but I joined originally because I was bored at school, found sharenator, looked around a bit. Then about a year of free roaming, I said "Hey, why no contribute?".
Also, I agree with the post spamming. I hope I'm not accused of such, I just have my few posts, and my two little series I am trying to run. Speaking of which, i made a new GIF: Collection.

i think the series posts are the best part of sharenator. thats why i tried to start a few my self =P but i totally agree with you. i did the same with, roamed for a while than said hey, this site seems pretty cool to be a part of so i hopped on.
and same, im not trying to spam posts, just been finding a lot of funny stuff lately lol.

I'm curious to know how long you've been here, bufus101. But yes, it is growing and has been updating more often as a result. I personally enjoy seeing this site grow. Posting the same stuff from one or two sources does get old, but from what I've seen, this site sometimes has phases of what's popular. I'm guessing the meme stuff/pic dump is one of them and it will eventually fall in line with other stuff. Hopefully it will balance out, but for now, I really don't mind myself. Also, one other note, sharenator original, I think there should be some reform with that, you know, encourage OC and maybe define what it takes to get on there.

OC is original content. Next to the home tab there's one that says "Original" but it's been the same posts for quite some time in there

well theres down falls to it becomeing a huge site. it might become something liek failblogs memebase ect.
I love the 4chan idea, because it would work so well on Sharenator. On 4chan, the anonymity disallows them to separate trolls/newfags from the people who post interesting stuff. This would obviously not be a problem on Sharenator.
Imagine if Sharenator was like it was back when 90% of the posts had more effort put in than uploading a few pictures. If the increasingly fast rate at which the home page refreshed was compiled solely of interesting posts which had taken some effort to make, it would be no problem. And if people started to make it a problem, our lack of anonymity wouldn't let it go on long.

There IS no anonymity on Sharenator. I know you as bufus101, not Anonymous. Which is why I don't think it would be a problem. If you started posting pics from funnyjunk, and people wanted it to stop, they'd know "bufus101" was doing it, not anonymous.

I hate to sound like a hipster but I liked it when it was smaller (no homo). I just base things off of posters (their names) or the name of the posts now.
If I know where they get their material from I might as well go to that site.
A lot of the stuff I used to post exclusively from going to 4chan or cracked just got other people to post the same content/topics & then we get reused stuff or overused websites.
Edit: because I know someone is going to say I'm self important.

no thats totally acceptable. i like to hear other peoples stories and comments, thats why i made this post. Thank you for the response =) but yeah. there are things that can be done to possibly help solve this issue, it would take a lot of planning and thought from all the active sharentors
Yah thats how i was i scour the web for things now to find that no one has seen. Although right now im working on some oc that we will see how it turns out
