I think the "this is my spot" ones stupid, why would you drive around for 10 minutes when there is a perfect stop. But I hate people who cant park because usually other persons around that car also have to park like shit and then there are like 3 spots you cant take. I also had a note, probably a girl (because it was written nice and the car pink) she was parking right on the white lines, but because I dont want to look like I couldn't park when she is gone I was parking in the right spot, which means it was really close. She was parking up front and I as always backwards, so our driver doors where next to each other. So I am a fairly big guy with about 225lbs but I could get out of the car pretty good, I have been closer to other cars. Then I had that "ticket" which said "I couldn't get into my car because of you, learn to park" XD

I can imagine some of the 'this is my spot' ones are down residential streets close to town centres. I've had that problem before when I go to park at my boyfriends. He lives in a flat just out of the town centre and loads of people park down there as it's free, unlimited parking, but they take up a space meant to be used by residents or visitors of people down that road and it gets bloody annoying when you have to drive around for ages just to get the spot which rightfully belongs to the owner/visitors of the people who live down there. Was the same at my old house as well, we lived within walking distance of the football stadium, so whenever there was a game we couldn't go out because if we did we wouldn't be able to get our space back between 2-6pm on Saturdays...
      Just sayin' ;)

simple solution, there is a residental parking only zone, you need a sticker on your car so you can park there. This is how we do it in germany and maybe that's why I dont understand that. I met people before that were like "that is my parking spot" because they were parking there for 3 years at our school but why should I leave that spot open? And how am I supposed to know that it is "someones parking spot"

We have parking permits for the roads around the one my boyfriend lives on. Our council, however, sucks.
