    Yes. And for some reason they celebrate the fireworks dessed as 19th century British soldiers, except it couldn't have been them who burned down Washington, cos they were busy getting their arses kiscked apparently. Twas a cunning ploy.

    That wasn't sarcasm. (< That was.)

    I don't think you did in 1812!
    In fact the Canadians consider it a victory for themselves (the empire).
    In Britain the war is hardly remembered due to fighting a much larger war against a little Frenchman.

    Oh right so they celebrate with fireworks in much the same way as we do to symbolise themselves setting fire to their own parliament building?
