Google is slowly but very effectively seeding itself into every possible nook and cranny out there. Even beyond that, it is creating new nooks and crannies for it to root itself in. While it has done a good job so far in appearing to be a user-friendly company, those who have gone through the upper tiers of customer support within google know that beyond the public face lies a company. A company that is flourishing has its grasp in tens of thousands of key positions.
I'm not going to say its like South Park's vision of Walmart, but it will ultimately eliminate privacy at the route it is taking. Those who are already giving up their privacy to google do it in a manner that they see harmless, but that is how the great strategists work -- Bits and pieces, slowly over time, and never whole chunks to get the people's attention. You think facebook's terms were bad? You should take a good look at what Google does with your data. It is ten times worse.
