Personally, we don't play on a PS3 or anything Sony makes. We don't like Sony at all. We have a CyberPower PC and an Xbox 360 and that's more then we need. However recently we found out PSN was down through constant complaints popping up here and there and most gamers seem to be blaming Anon immediately. This would make sense to us too, Anon are at war with Sony still if we remember correctly. However Anon had also pledged to not bring down the PSN and doing so wouldn't make it sense since it'd hurt their cause. It's always possible a few people who help to form Anon had branched off and done it on their own, but Anon has released a statement we found on Anonnews.
When you remember that Anon and Sony are at war, it makes sense for Sony to also have no problem dropping the blame onto Anon instead of them. It makes them seem less incompetent and helps the customers trust them better rather then thinking they can't handle their own systems (Which would hurt sales obviously). Our stance on the matter is that we believe Anon is innocent of the PSN Downing, and that it's actually just Sony.

Sony said the server logs would demonstrate that many of those who downloaded Hotz’s hack reside in Northern California — thus making San Francisco a proper venue for the case.[10]
On April 11, 2011, it was revealed that Hotz and Sony had reached a settlement out of court. This included a permanent injunction against Hotz doing any more hacking work on any Sony products[11] to prevent any future firmwares from being decrypted.[12]

The cracking group Anonymous announced their intent to attack Sony websites in response to Sony's lawsuit and, specifically due to Sony's gaining access to the IP addresses of all the people who visited geohot's blog, terming it an 'offensive against free speech and internet freedom'[13][14] Although Anonymous admitted responsibility to subsequent attacks on the Sony websites, much speculation has arisen concerning a sustained collapse of the Playstation Network in April. Anonymous has denied that their attacks are the cause of its malfunction.[15] However, because the Anonymous group is amorphous and without central authority, it is hard to verify the authenticity or applicability of this statement.
According to Sony, the initial cause of the PSN and the company’s Qriocity service was due to an "external intrusion", and that it was subsequently kept off-line in order to facilitate an infrastructure upgrade as an apparent consequence of this attack. [16]
