My first impressions of Skyrim
Well, I'll start off by saying I've never been much of a fan of the Elder Scrolls series. So I really wasn't expecting to like Skyrim, but I wanted to at least try it. I must say, it was pretty good.
Now I'm not going to rush out and buy a copy, lol. I'll wait until it's dropped in price.
The controls were a little frustrating, but I would say it's due to my system. It just seemed like I couldn't get the look sensitivity adjusted properly. I'm sure when I buy it for the 360 in a year or so I'll enjoy it much more.
The game looks amazing! Everything was so pretty. That was my biggest problem with oblivion. The environment looked good enough, but character models looked like crap. Everything looks gorgeous in Skyrim, which is good, because at least everyone will look good while displaying No Emotion At All, which was my second biggest problem with Oblivion. Don't get me wrong, the voice acting is marvelous, and I really haven't played far enough to form a fair opinion, but I wish the level of emotion conveyed in the voice acting was displayed in character animations. If I'm about to have my head chopped off, I'm not likely to put my head on the block compliantly while pleading with the executioner for my life.
Anyway, as I said, I'm not a big fan of the series, I didn't expect to enjoy it, and I was presently surprised. I didn't enjoy it enough to pay full price, but when it drops to $30 or $20, I'll pick it up.

lol, like I said, it's not a game I've been waiting for anyway, I understand why others are excited about it, I really just had to give it a go to see what all the fuss was about. If it takes a few years to drop in price, I can wait, but I really don't think it will take that long.
I just want to put this out there.

A minute ago I just came in my pants because I slayed a dragon, and killed a bad ass motherfucker which took me 30 minutes to kill, for this I learned three goddamn words for one shout and that shout justs fucks everyone over who just stares at me lol

I guess the emotion thing was just too much in too little time for them, they started fresh after fallout 3 rewrote everything and I think for the amount of charakters and emotions they just couldnt handle all the facial expression in detail. If it is kinda like in oblivion it is okay, I mean when you tried to convince someone they showed some expression and stuff. But no game is perfect that would be too much work, L.A. Noir was a lot of work and they pretty much were only concentrating on the face and they had not that many people. Now imagine the work it would take for a game like skyrim, it is still a roleplay game and not a shooter. Compared to other RPGs Skyrim is pretty much awesome, maybe the best.

I don't disagree, and I also only played maybe the first half hour of it, so I really didn't get to see that much of the game. It convinced me that I will need to get it at some point for the 360, which is pretty impressive, because like I said, I wasn't expecting to like it.
I'm also not saying that it's a bad game because it doesn't show the facial expressions. It just kinda takes me out of the experience. They time that they could have spent doing facial expressions and actions was spent in other places, and it really does show.

just try to compare it with other RPGs and you'll see there is probably not any better game, maybe fallout 3 if you are not in dragon slaying, but it is still bethesda.
If you buy it for 360 you should install it because the graphics are too big for a DVD so when you install it the HD and detail stuff is on your Xbox drive so it can load the graphics really fast and it just looks awesome, it also is supposed to cut off some loading time.

Oh I believe it, I have a pretty fast computer, and the loading times are heavy! I thought it froze when I first started playing lol. The biggest reason I'm waiting for the price drop is that I've currently got a first gen 360, which I've revived from the rrod.
It's slow, and it doesn't run very well, when mine broke (E71 error, firmware related, very difficult/impossible to fix) I got this one off my friend for free. He split beer behind it and the fan sucked it in and it rrod. I took it apart, cleaned and repaired it. It works, but Skyrim would likely kill it lol.

sometimes it just takes a few seconds depending on where I am going. I have a first gen xbox too maybe it is because I have that big ol TV or because of the xbox but the graphics arent in HD, probably because of the TV.
It wowed me too much, when I was playing I had my mouth open konstant, if you dont just look at the face all the time it isnt that bad, I usually look what is going on around the person. The game wowed me so much that I thought I could cut down trees, take the tree and let it split by that machine, well letting trees split by that machine is possible but you cant cut down trees lol. There are some things that arent perfect but I never played such an awesome RPG game, I cant stop playing it is so much fun and a trillion times better than oblivion and a lot better than fallout 3. Any other RPG just sucks compared to this. It takes a bit time to get into the game, after 2 hours playing I figured out everything how to handle the quest marks and so on. Leveling up is so much fun now, in oblivion you could've played the whole game on lvl 1. Now you have perks and when someone kicks your ass, one more level and you beat the shit out of him, then you think you are invincible and then there is another asshole that just fucks you up, but it is so much fun. The urgency to level up, the new perk you get with it, just everything is so much more fun. You cant just get into the mage guild if you someone who never uses magic. The shouts are so much fun I am addicted in finding words. There is this singer academy. And you cant just rush threw the story because you need to level up. Honestly I dont even know the main quest is, you are in the middle of that war and have to choose one side, then there are these people trying to teach you dragon language and there is this organisation you still know from oblivion but their real task always was killing dragon and now is again (probably thats the main thing but I am not sure). I dont even know what happens if I end that war I already took 3 parts of skyrim. Oh and you can have like an army following you. I have that women following me because a ruler really liked me and that guy I pay to help me, its just FUCK YEAH

sorry for the long text but I am playing for about 18 hours and there is so much happening and I am just starting in the dark brotherhood and I have so many quests I want to finish before continuing and stuff. Oh and making your armor stronger and weapons better is so awesome I mean it got a whole lot more realistic.
BTW if you want to join the dark brotherhood it wont work just killing someone you actually have to do something.
And I will play it again just so I know what if I am not a nord because it really matters where you from which is awesome and so I know what if I am on the other side or just not join the war, too many choices XD

I was so upset by that response I went on gamestop and order Armored Core 5 and Saints Row the 3rd. Now my only problem is I work to much to get any play time! FML!
For the record, I ended up buying Skyrim the other day, so ya, I couldn't wait lol. It was the most complicated way of getting it, but I got it.
Futureshop has a deal where if you trade 2 select games, you get Skyrim free. Well I only had one of the games on the list of select games, Mortal Kombat, however there are games on the list that futureshop is selling for $40. So I went to futureshop, bought "Dangerous Hunts 2012", then imeditly went back down to games, with the second last copy of Skyrim, and traded both games in.

Rented it from redbox, got hooked within 30 minutes on ps3. went bought it the next day. worth 60 bucks this game could take 4 months to get 100%completion for some anyway. I just got to craft my first set of Dragon Scale Armor F N awesome. been playin a month and a half Bout 70% complete. Anyway KICK ASS GAME
