i don't really train anywhere but my friends dad owns a dojo and i do tournaments with his Dojo under my name :P
i dont really take jui jitsu seriously but i am quite good at it, i kinda teach myself, im a natural jiu jitsu master ;) :P
I take it so serious. it is my freakin life bro. eat, sleep, drink, jiu-jitsu. :D I'm entering a tournament this weekend.(first place hands down:) I'm so pumped! hahaha
haha nice!
i do take it seriously, i jsut ment i dont just train Jiu-jitsu i train kickboxing but what i ment was i have no jiu jitsu trainer :P
i enter mma tournaments monthly ;)
wrestling and jiu-jitsu are pretty much the same thing both take extreme amounts of skill and technique. From what I've seen doing both of them I'd say that wrestling takes more. Jiu-jitsu isn't quiet as hard for me. though it may be the skill of the other guys I train with.
trust me, if you were training with me , i would tap you out quickly, i do have respect for wrestlers as they do tend to train hard but like i usually say taking steroids helps wrestlers tremendously and would probably be a downfall for jiu-jitsu
wait i hope your not thinking pro wrestling? im talking about real wrestler in college and high school. and i've never seen or heard of a wrestler in that level using steroids. and aside from that wrestling takes just amount of skill if not more than jiu-jitsu
i most certainly am talking about college level wrestling, and i bet you
9 out of 10 times a BJJ master
will beat an olympic wrestler
wrestling takes skill
but in a game of rock paper scissors jiu-jitsu is paper wrestling is rock
But thats why i train Kickboxing too, because you cant really do much with just one kind of style in MMA
hmmmm i really think it just depends on the person I'm a very experienced wrestler and a beginner in terms of jiu-jitsu but I've never lost in either sport to a person who trains in jiu-jitsu. not only that but im a lighter weight than all of them and still win every time. more often than not i'm going to say a wrestler will win.
i bet you really are, as someone who dedicates their life to a sport or just loves and trains and practices alot you will be great but a wrestler would be alot better with steroids.
and since we are talking about this i think ima share a story about me and a wrestler
alright, well this was like my 4th loss and i went for a kick but i was tired as SHIT and he wasn't (he had beast cardio!)and he went for a single leg takedown, got me down i went for an armbar and then i dont even know what he did but he got behind me quick as shit and jsut choked me out
Depends on what you mean for finish. In wrestling your working for the pin in jiu-jitsu the submission. Both are incredibly tough but from what I've done in both of them I would say that wrestling is by far better. Mainly because it's just more fun for me lol.
Ok, I respect that. I just like Jiu-jitsu because you really can finish off a fight. I'm a freshmen in high school, so being able to finish a fight with out throwing blows is a big plus. (: but I see where your coming from.
Got to love a good ol' chant! Went to the Donny game last week, and had about half an hour of:
'We're the One and Only North End! Phil Browns Super White Army!'

jiu jitsu takes ALOT more skill, but i still respect wrestlers when they take me down...and i just give em a gogoplata or an armbar
(p.s. if you wanna get a wrestler, wrap up a knee bar or twister.)
