Ford bought aston martin like 20 years ago. and revolutionized it, and then sold most of its ownership away to an international investment group (comprised of an english aston martin collector and a bunch of kuwatis) for a big profit.

ford owned jaguar for a while too, pulled its reputation out of the gutter, increased its reliability, and sold it to some indian company called "ta ta"

    bentley - VW
    rolls royce - BMW
    mini - BMW
    lotus - malasian
    rover - chinese
land rover - ford then india (TA TA)
jaguar - ford then india (TA TA)

why do you like ferari, aston martin and the rest?!
ever listened to the sound of those cars?
it sounds like a crying baby.

listen to a mustang or bmw.
thats what a car should sound like!

as a car nut who has listened to these cars you are wrong. a well tuned engine always sounds great. The Prancing Pony and the aston martins have some of the sexiest sounds.

I just don't like this high sounds.
It always remind me of the formula 1.
I think a car should hum.

My uncle had a Ferrari Spider for about 2 years and a good friend of mine owns an old Gran Torino. I like the sound of the Gran Torino better.

there are very few sounds as sexy as a f1 car.
don't get me wrong i am not saying that the cars you mentioned don't sound great, only that all the cars you mentioned sound great. i go to a lot of amercian lemans races and the corvet has a sound like nothing else on the the tract. it sounds great. but so does the ferrie and the viper, the sallen and the bmw. any time you have a well tuned car it sounds great. a properly tuned rice rocket can sound great. that does not mean put a coffee can exhaust on it and it sounds great. if you tune it from start to finish it sounds good.
from the two comments you made about crying babies and f1 i assume you are talking about that engines at full speed and not at idol.

    Yeah thats what i meant.
And don't get me wrong. I love ferrari two. But I like the other sound even more. It probably seemed like I did not like those cars at all.
Thats not what I wanted to say.
But I am from Germany and my English is not perfect so I am sorry for any miss understandings^^

look up aston martin on wikipedia (even though i mentioned 8 diff car companies, 3 of which were bought out by ford, im assuming youre talking about aston martin)

"Ford placed Aston in the Premier Automotive Group, substantially invested in new manufacturing and quickly ramped up production. In 1994, Ford opened a new factory at Banbury Road in Bloxham. In 1995, the company produced a record 700 vehicles. Until the Ford era cars had been produced by hand coachbuilding craft methods, such as the English wheel. In 1998 the 2,000th DB7 was built, and in 2002 the 6,000th, exceeding production of all previous DB models. The DB7 range was boosted by the addition of V12 Vantage models in 1999, and in 2001 the company introduced the V12-engine Vanquish.

At the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Michigan in 2003, Aston Martin introduced the AMV8 Vantage concept car. Expected to have few changes before its introduction in 2005, the Vantage brought back the classic V8 engine to allow the company to compete in a larger market. 2003 also saw the opening of the Gaydon factory, the first purpose-built factory in Aston Martin's history."

in other words: they revolutionized aston martin, and re-sold it to 1 english guy and a bunch of people from kuwait. this car now has no real home country. and ford made a nice chunk of profit from it, and continues to, since they still have say in the company via stock ownership (77mil i believe).

and to say "we are better"... while foreigners make tons of profit off of hiring english factory workers, paying them peanuts in comparison to the millions they make off of them. hardly a win....
