2 things I have to say about this election

1 - We will have no more excuses for Obama. Either he will do something as a president now that he has the max amount of time possible, or he will prove that he is full of mere promises.

2 - Colorado. Is. Fucking. Awesome.

As long as his opposition agrees to do something other than attempt to destroy the country to make him look bad, then yes, he needs to return to the speed of action that existed in his first two years. I would love to see that return. We need it to.
    - Logos385 November 7, 2012, 12:27 pm
what speed of action he didnt get shit done in his first two years
    - Tremp20k November 7, 2012, 2:05 pm
    That is extremely inaccurate.
From rawstory.com, based off a Rachel Maddow monologue on her show (obviously a bias source, but since this is for summary and not evidence, I feel it appropriate):

Obama’s list of accomplishments included an equal pay law, expanding hate crimes laws, health care reform, revamping student loans, increasing national service programs, the “cash for clunkers” program, preventing a financial collapse, signing the single largest tax cut, reforming Wall Street, appointing the first Hispanic justice to the Supreme Court, signing a new nuclear weapons treaty with Russia, providing first responders who were sickened after the 9/11 with benefits, and repealing “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell.”

That was all in the first two years. And more was done on top of that as well.
    - Logos385 November 7, 2012, 3:36 pm
Tremp20k he did get a lot done, he raised the debt. He got a nobel piece prize for being black. Thats about it.
    - johnecash November 16, 2012, 3:24 pm
When it comes to Obama, and his supporter, there is always room for more excuses.
PS Colorado and Washington are awesome. Now here is hopping they are an example of what to do and don't fuck it up for the other 48 states. The entire country will be watching this experiment.
    - johnecash November 16, 2012, 3:26 pm
What was not done is a much larger list. But we have been over this before and I know you think he is perfect even when he lies to you. I know that you don't hold him accountable for what he says. In your book if the makes 100 promises and only delivers on one, your ok with that. CRAZY.
    - johnecash November 16, 2012, 3:28 pm
We have been over this a lot, as you said. I have never said he is perfect. I have admitted many flaws. I acknowledge that he has unfulfilled promises.

That doesn't make him a bad leader.

Furthermore, I was addressing the claim that Obama did "nothing" in the first two years. Which is patently false.
    - Logos385 November 16, 2012, 5:04 pm
So he did 13 things in 730 days? Some of which I'm not even sure I approve of... "revamped student loans" ? How...? I'm going to college and since Obama has taken office my tuition has risen every year. Helping me take out loans isn't gonna help me in a few years when the loans are over $50,000 and I need to pay them back. And why is appointing a Hispanic justice an accomplishment? It should go by who is most qualified, not their race. And by that logic any president who has ever appointed a justice could use that as one of their biggest accomplishments?
    - casper667 November 16, 2012, 5:58 pm
He did much more than those 13 things, those were just a few of the many, many examples of progress made. "Revamping" student loans was taking out the private business middleman that did nothing but increase the cost of student loans, and making it so that the student loan is between the student and the government.

The appointing of the first Hispanic justice represents the willingness to choose the person best suited for the job. The accomplishment is commemorating socially moving forward as a society.
    - Logos385 November 16, 2012, 11:36 pm
Now if he could only revamp just about every other thing about the entire college system he'd be on the right track.
    - casper667 November 17, 2012, 2:58 am
I agree he did nothing is a false statement. The correct way of putting it is he did next to nothing.
    - johnecash November 17, 2012, 2:24 pm
Next to nothing being a relative phrase that is technically meaningless. Sure. If you count preventing economic collapse, championing gay marriage (eventually), creating much-needed oversight, killing Osama Bin Laden, and enacting the single largest tax cut in American history "next to nothing." Along with everything else he did.
    - Logos385 November 19, 2012, 2:20 am
He's trying to do quite a bit of education reform. Much more than his former opposition proposed. Although I completely agree... not nearly enough. Because loans suck. A lot.
    - Logos385 November 19, 2012, 5:44 pm
I love Obama fans. They try and polish a turd.
    - johnecash November 19, 2012, 5:54 pm
Because "preventing economic collapse, championing gay marriage (eventually), creating much-needed oversight, killing Osama Bin Laden, and enacting the single largest tax cut in American history" all coalesce to form a turd.
    - Logos385 November 19, 2012, 8:16 pm
Keep polishing that turd. Bad news is, no matter how much you polish, Obama is still a turd. Now if obama only cared about the economy as much as he does about gays we might have a budget.
    - johnecash November 20, 2012, 10:29 am
We do have a budget. We have since February....?
Also, the fundamental rights of American citizens always trump haggling over numbers. Do you truly care more about tax rates than inalienable rights all human beings possess?
    - Logos385 November 20, 2012, 11:15 am
One day I hope you can comprehend that without a strong economy, nothing matter. Without a strong economy, the country falls apart. One day I hope your liberal mind can understand this. I won't even start to get in over your head with state rites vs the government.
    - johnecash November 20, 2012, 11:21 am
The fact that you fail to correctly use the english language, multiple times, while attempting to assert that you are about to explain something that is "over my head" shows your unfounded arrogance.
    - Logos385 November 20, 2012, 11:23 am
Nothing makes you happier than being a grammar Nazi. Keep polishing your turd and telling yourself its not a turd. What I love about democrats like yourself is not too long ago yall would do and say things to make the country better like; "Ask not what your country can do for you - ask what you can do for your country." Today your people are known for asking the country what it can do for them. JFK
And here is the problem with the liberals today. When the people find that they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the republic. BF
    - johnecash November 20, 2012, 11:35 am
Your statement has no substance. You made multiple unfounded claims without evidence or reasoning. I am often not a "grammar nazi," however, when someone attempts to tell me something is about to be "over my head" while failing to even type correctly, I find the irony humorous.

Let's go through this step by step then. Obama signed the largest tax cut in American history into law. Is that worthy of "turd" status to you?
    - Logos385 November 20, 2012, 11:47 am
I have long since given up hope you can give a fair argument that does not wear some of the thickest liberal glasses I have ever seen. People like you will vote to spend this country into the sands of time
    - johnecash November 20, 2012, 8:38 pm
"Obama signed the largest tax cut in American history into law. Is that worthy of "turd" status to you?"
You have yet to ever answer a point I make. Answer this one please.
    - Logos385 November 21, 2012, 1:41 am
I am still waiting on the tax cut you speak of, but I have seen the income cut and job cuts that we may thank to Obama. During my time of running a business I have seen profits drop around 30%. Thanks Obama. Hey I would love a tax cut. Wait, do you mean since I make less money now, I have to pay less taxes? Yes I do know about the largest tax cut ever and I do put all the credit on Obama.
    - johnecash November 21, 2012, 9:54 am
Then you haven't done your research or paid any attention. It happened in 2009. How are you still not aware of it?

Furthermore, the economy went bad late 2007-mid 2008. That's the economy under Bush, not Obama. The economy, over the course of Obama's presidency, has gotten better, not worse.
    - Logos385 November 21, 2012, 1:24 pm
You are a classic example of this difference between how they say it works, and how it truly works. To learn how life truly works you can't just read about it.
    - johnecash November 21, 2012, 7:57 pm
Are you actually trying to argue the FACT that Obama enacted a tax cut in 2009...? Seriously?
    - Logos385 November 22, 2012, 11:23 am
I won't be watching the experiment... I'll me living it <(@-@)>
