But because of the little amount of gravity, you would continue to fly/float in the same direction forever, so you would eventually hit a star.

Does eventually cut it when trying to hit a goal or milestone in life? I can eventually become rich by saving and obtain the goal by the time I am about to die.... Point duly noted though :)
