Do or Die Sharenators!
"There are only two kinds of people that understand Marines: Marines and those who have met them in battle. Everyone else has a second-hand opinion." Unknown
"Panic sweeps my men when they are facing the AMERICAN MARINES."
CAPTURED NORTH KOREAN MAJOR
"The deadliest weapon in the world is a MARINE and his rifle!"
GEN. PERSHING, US.ARMY
"They're on our right, they're on our left, they're in front of us, they're behind us; they can't get away from us this time."
Chesty Puller, USMC, Chosin Reservoir, Korean War
"Retreat hell! We just got here!"
CAPT LLOYD WILLIAMS, USMC
Marines I see as two breeds, Rottweilers or Dobermans, because Marines come in two varieties, big and mean, or skinny and mean. They're aggressive on the attack and tenacious on defense. They've got really short hair and they always go for the throat.

I have to give bacon some credit, he's a fellow Marine. oohrah brother
My great grandfather served in WWII as a marine. He just recently passed away. Speaking from an outsiders point of view, I can see all aspects of your description in him. He was mean all the way to the end. Although he could be calmed by my great grandmother immediately. He would angry at the hospital staff and his wife would walk in and he would calm down immediately. The grave side service was beautiful. The United States Marines who folded the flag and presented it to my great grandmother were the most polite people I have ever seen. The sheer beauty of the moment when the bugler started playing taps made me cry.
I am sorry for writing such a long and personal post. I needed somewhere to say it.
