well... thats US minimum wage... like as in... part time cashier... or pizza boy (not an average salary). most real jobs here start at around $30,000-40,000/yr salary in rural areas. places where a piece of property with a 2 bedroom house on it will cost you about $30,000.
average salary in cities are much higher... closer to $50,000 starting. as high as $80,000. im 24 and make about 70k/yr salary.
is this chart comparing our minimum wage to these countries minimum wage? it doesnt really specify... the only people i know that actually make minimum wage are either part-time people, or people with jobs based off of commission/tips.. like a waitress or sales person. waiters (the ones that file taxes on their tips) make alot of money from tips... coming out to usually over $50,000 in a busy restaurant.
this chart is misleading

Well, england isnt the best. the only reason we get paid more is because we have to pay more, as we have huge taxes etc. VAT is a huge stab in the back. It means the more the value of the item, the more tax on it. At the moment, an additional 17.5% of the value is added. However it is probably going up yo 20%. So, if something's value is £100, then you pay £120 for it. And as you see, the more expensive, the more tax. EG, £1000 = £1200. My laptop would be £180 cheaper if there was no vat. £180 is about 285 USD.
Do you happen to know how much say a cashier or pizza boy. Something that is minimum wage over there gets paid? It would be interesting to tell how this chart is made.
they spelled russia wrong didnt they?
I think Rusia is the Russian way to spell it...
aha no, they're just pullin' you're leg. :D That was a spelling mistake lol
Hmm interesting indeed seems like India might be having a hard time just saying.
You notice how they don't put Mexico because they don't want everyone else to get jealous :D
