I don't have any adblockers running... but I do have my firefox synced on another computer and it hasn't been able to do it's thing yet. Would that have something to do with it?

yeah... one of these doesnt work me thinks

I cant remember which one but i think its the first one.

also, as you use linux specifically, try typing in:
      /etc/init.d/nscd restart
to flush the DNS cache. If it still doesnt work, please link me the page (i cant find it) and I will try and help you further :)

Type the two IP's and url's in that file? A little confused on that part.

And which link do you want if it doesn't work?

yeah you typed it correctly. I assume you saved it properly?
Try opening again to see if its still there.

After closing the file, type in the
          sudo /etc/init.d/nscd restart
into the TERMINAL and press enter. (not into the file)

I did save it properly, the URL's are still in the hosts file.

            *crosses fingers*

            Hopefully this works

urm... that line gives me an error saying, "This command can not be found" Something similar to that. The only way I can use /etc/init.d/nscd restart for anything is if I put nano between it and sudo, but it opens up a different file. Am I supposed to put the two IP addresses and URL's into THAT file?

If it's supposed to restart my computer, then something is going wrong, cause that isn't what's happening. :(

      Rofl

      Depends on the device.

If you have a jailbroken iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad, get iFile from Cydia, go to /etc/hosts and edit :)
It may be possible to do this on Android too in a similar way.
PS3 might be able to be done via Linux
Wii = Most hackable console ever
DS = idk, probably possible with R4 or another flashcard.

      Anything else?

Pretty much any OS uses a hosts file somewhere. its part of TCP/IP i think.

      Sharenator Terms of Service

      Please make note of this...
"Very short comments that add no value and serve no purpose other than to up ones point count can be considered spam. Example: if you start randomly posting "cool", "I dunno" and similar comments in every post, your comments may be deleted."

Sorry if I seem kinda bossy or anything towards you, but I understand that you are new to the site, and you haven't taken the time to get to know how we work.

Read the terms of service before doing anything else. Its not usual crap, its just a set of basic rules.
Also, do not EVER beg for points.

Im going to leave it to you to discover the delete or edit button, in which case, you will be able to modify your post to something constructive or useful, or delete it.

Like i say, sorry for being bossy, but you have given me a bad first impression, and probably everyone else too.
