This isn't that amazing, it's just dragging around on the video, scrubbing back and forth. I built one of these in Flash. The presenter makes it appear they drag the objects, but only because they click on the object and drag, but the video is not aware of what's a person and what's a car ,and what direction they can move it in. This is what I call virtual snake oil.

LOL. Your post is funny. I'm sure 6 researchers from the University of Toronto just slapped together a flash video. How do you explain the car and people moving at different speeds? How do you explain the dragging back and forth in time by moving the baloon up or to the side? Oh, that's right. You have no idea what's going on here. I forgot :)
