Debate on Soul music. what do you think?
MAn this is something i wanted to do for a long time now.
RULES; (yes i have to have them)
1. this is a debate. not a fight. no aggro. or gtfo
2. no cussing.
3. be honest. i know when your not.
4. dont be a loser. im nto going to bag on your taste in music. i will share my own opinions as you share yours.
thats all. C:

Okay, the debate right now is about music. in spesific, what kind of music is best for the soul?
Ive been lucky enough to go through many phases in different music selections. and heres my current take on all of them
rock/metal/punk: I love these. but for this debate. no. when you listen to this type of music, Slipknot, Disturbed, Mettalica, all of them it gives you an almost evil feeling. and it often leads to a weird morbid life. i listen to it dont get me wrong. i love it. But as some people think it is very comsuming and take it too far as to shut out the good things in life.
Pop/rap: This is one of the types i hate the most. There are a few songs i like. But the popular oopinion just.. dosnt quite understand what music is. thats what it think. you hear the music, you sing the song.. but do you really know what the lyrics mean? no one seems to pay attention to them anymore and it bugs me. ive heard what allmost seem to be satanist lyrics in a few songs. im not saying is evil. im just saying that people need to leard to actually LISTEN to the music. not be a drone and simply sing it as people do. and i know what your thinking. "oh i listen to the music." But do you really?
Country: I done have much to say about this. I down right dont like it. I would like it more if they all didnt sound the same and the songs werent always about beer and breakups. our world was always built on it but its just kinda sickening to me.
Electronica/house: man i know what your thinking about this one "what? this dosnt help your soul." For me.. it does. every night before i go to bed i put this stuff into my head... it healp me think.. the long soothing beats put me into very deep thought about things. and when i say electronica i dont mean stuff like "basshunter" and other singer types. But no lyric stuff. it pull away your destraction on you mind...

I know it's kind of odd but I like both rock and rap equally. (for the record, yes, I do listen to the lyrics)
Hate country, death metal, pop and electronic stuff. When I need a beat pumping into my head I listen to some rap and tune out the words, it isnt that hard, I would tell you to try it but you don't like a lot of rap.

Liquid DnB chills me out big time :D
Hate that too. All about the good vibes
I am in LOVE with your icon man, i am obsessed with skrillex
o dought you can tell when im lieing
I'm a fan of Electronica myself but when it comes down to it Classic Rock(Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, etc) is best for the soul.
As always hip-hop & rap are degraded by the mainstream. People always underestimate hip-hop for it's potential don't feel bad, I'm not insulting you.
here are a few songs that u should listen to & keep in mind that not all hip-hop is terrible.
sadly this GREAT artist has passed away, rap in peace eyedea.

Soul music? that must be good for the soul if they called it that!
But also you have the rock/metal/punk section and associated that just with Slipknot, Disturbed, Metalica which I don't agree with at all some of the best music for the soul maybe Led Zeppelin for deepness, maybe the kinks for uplifting or Neil Young for meaning (I could go on)
Music for the soul could be anything, depending on who you are. I consider myself very lucky to have discovered music in the way that I have and now is part of my life on a whole new level. :)

I think she means "new" country, which lets be honest is awful.
Liquid/drum and bass - good pace for festivals and its a personal taste
Dubstep - angry but amazing synths make it a get up and shout music type, but can also be relaxed and moving.
