The other day i was looking at some Titanic facts and it said that it sank in 1912. Then i realized that is exactly 100 years away from 2012, the year the entire world it going to end. Before this i thought that it wasn't going to happen at all. But now i'm kind of second guessing myself. Please share your thoughts.

From what my schools astronomy teacher said, the Mayans based their calendar on the stars and the orientation of the planets, and they assumed that this was going to happen several times, and we're still alive. The most recent time was 1993, apparently.
Another teacher of mine said that when they said "the world will come to an end!" they mean the world as they know it. They don't mean the end of time, the end of existence, they mean everything is going to change drastically that we won't be able to recognize it as the same world as it was a year or two ago.

I, like you, was also a doubter about the prospect of the world ending in 2012, but then I went on Wikipedia and looked at all the events which happened during 1912. New Mexico became the 47th state, The city of Chandler, Quebec was founded, The Girl Scouts of the USA were founded, Harriet Quimby became the first woman to fly across the English Channel and Albania declared independence from the Ottoman Empire.
Surely these important events also are proof that the prophecy is true. It cant just be coincidence that a collection of events happened in a year exactly a century before an ancient civilization predicted the world would end.

yeah they are! They are both large catastrofees (cant spell) that happened and may happen to humankind!
No... They're not even close in scale. They're completely different events, unless of course a giant space boat crashes on earth in 2012.
The time of 100 years doesn't mean anything does it? Why 100 years? why not 10 years? Maybe the world should have ended in 1922.
This is the beginning of a huge list of problems i have with this. I don't mean to be rude but the idea is completely baseless. Trust me you have nothing to worry about.
