I think the better word is: OWNAGE!!!
This actually reminds me of two people I knew in high school. One of them was one of my closest girlfriends, the other a socially awkward boy (Nice guy though, good looking too. Names are Stephanie and Mark respectively.) You can see where this is going. Mark does everything he can to woo Steph, Steph blows him off. (Not in a good way) So around the middle of grade 12, me and Steph are eating lunch together. She's in kind of a bitchy mood, going on about how her last boyfriend didn't respect her, he was a tool, user, <generic ex-boyfriend name here>. So I eventually say "Why not give Mark a chance? He's a decent guy." She laughed in my face and that's when I started ranting. Mostly about how Mark did nothing but treat her like a goddess just to be blown off, how many girls would be lucky to date him, how half the girls I've talked to think she's nuts for it, etc.
Everyone in the cafeteria heard. Pretty sure she shed a few tears after that outburst, but I was too annoyed to stick around long enough to see, I needed a smoke. So as I'm about to walk out the school's front door, I here someone say, "Thanks for that." It was Mark. I told him I meant everything I said, then gave him a kiss on the cheek. He stood there stunned while I walked away, smirking.
About a week later, I find out he's seeing someone. Pretty girl too. I like to think that I gave him the confidence boost he needed to pursue other girls.
Moral: Sometimes girls need to take a better look at what's right in front of them. As for boys here's something to give you some hope: For every girl that rejects you in high school, there are at least 2 or 3 who'd go out with you. Don't let yourself get hung up on anyone for too long.
