A Suggestion.
How about we get rid of the point system and the rank system and add a like and dislike button like youtube, it seems like it would get rid of point whoring and pointless first posts. What do you guys think? Too much of a change? Or perfect? In between? I think its a brilliant idea but then again, I came up with it so I don't really count....oh well.

Doing that is only going to change the point system... instead of having, "this is how many points you have", you'll get, "this is how many people like your post", and people are just going to start whoring for top spot in that category. In a way, the point system is a way to show who are the BEST sharers on here. People with a lot of points, have a lot of good posts... people with little to less than nothing in points have either had their posts ignored, or they decided to try whoring for points and just wound up getting downrated anyways. It doesn't matter how you change the system, the idea of being the so called "best" is always there, and everyone wants to have it. Some people just don't play fair like the rest of us.

Yeah you'll have that this is how many people will like your post, but you don't have ranks so getting likes doesn't really matter.

the point system kind of is a "like and dislike" system. just with levels ranging from -3 to +3.
