if the Mayans could predict the exact day the world would end why didnt they see the drought and famine that destroyed their civilization? Explain that one.

its just a cycle... their calendar ends on 12-21-12 just as ours ends in December every year, they will just have a new calendar

The mayan calendar is a circle. It shows some movements of the sun and other planets. And it starts new on 21.12.2012.

their is more then Mayan calendar that contributes to my believing that something(not necessarily the end of the world) will happen that year. modern day scientist do say that on that year our poles will change meaning that com-pis that point north will point south and their will be other affects but they are not shore what they may be big or small. Their are other things but i do not have the time at the moment.

Ah, there is something behind this with the aztecs. They predicted that in the year of the reed, a white bearded man would show up on their shores, act lke a god, and would destroy the aztec empire in the following years.
In the predicted year, Hernan Cortes, a white bearded spanish man shows up on Aztec shores, bosses the aztecs around as if he were a god and destroys the empire within 20 years.
And the aztecs and mayans predicted 2012.

you know what 12/31/2012 people are gunna riot just before becuse they dont know what is gunna happen and either way things are going to be different afterward if you think about it, for all we know the mayans knew they weren't going to last very long so they figured they should just stop making the calender
